HOW CAN A "REAL" MONTESSORI SCHOOL BE IDENTIFIED?

Since "Montessori" is in the public domain, it is possible for any individual or institution to claim to be Montessori. Authentic Montessori schools have teachers with credentials from accredited Montessori training programs in the classroom,  a full complement of Montessori materials, multi-age classrooms and an open-door policy for visitors.

The best assurance for parents is to observe a class in progress and to verify the teacher's Montessori training center is accredited with macte.org .
