THE MONTESSORI TEACHER
The Montessori teacher serves as a loving link between the children and the materials. She guides the child's social and emotional development. She serves as a model for the children; always acting in the way she expects them to react - calmly, gently and with respect. The combination of enriched environment and highy dedicated Montessori trained teachers at Lakeside Montessori, provides the children with experiences in which they are challenged but not pressured; opportunities to develop self-confidence, independence, concentration, a love of learning and a positive self-concept.
Our Montessori teachers hold 3 - 6 certification from an accredited American Montessori Society training center and have served the required one year in a supervised Montessori internship.
Our Montessori teachers also participate in 24 hours of early childhood training each year, and have participated in a week long Kindermusik training.
All teachers have current CPR / first aid training, and have passed a criminal background check.
